Failed cavity wall insulation is often associated with older properties, but this project shows that newer homes are by no means immune. In this case, we attended a property valued at around £600,000, just 10 years old, where the cavity wall insulation had been installed poorly and incorrectly by the original developer or installer.
After the homeowner raised concerns, a detailed inspection confirmed serious issues within the cavity, leaving full extraction as the only suitable solution. It is a stark reminder that cavity wall insulation problems are not simply about the age of the property, but the standard of the installation itself. Even relatively new homes can suffer major defects when corners have been cut.
